What I would expect to see here is what Gitkraken displays on other feature branches. However, Gitkraken appears to think that commit 885da9 and all of its parents also "belong" to the branch "MAG-33." even though "MAG-33." didn't even exist at the time that commit 885da9 or the earlier commits were created. The feature branch starting with "MAG-33." was created during development and should only consist of commit b2b550. In the screenshot above, the commits at the top all "belong" to the "dev" branch (as evidenced by hovering over the commit and observing the branch tag that pops up on the top left). However, I recently found while scrolling through the commit and branch graph in Gitkraken that one of these feature branches seems to have hijacked all of the previous commits from the "dev" branch. Future investments in GitLens will benefit ALL users, free and paid, whether you have an account or not.I follow the standard practice of maintaining a "dev" branch in my software project and adding new features by first creating and checking out a new branch, writing the new feature, then merging the feature branch back into the "dev" branch. With GitLens now being part of the GitKraken family of tools, we’ll be able to evolve GitLens at a faster pace than ever before. This is yet another reason joining GitKraken will help drive innovation for GitLens: there’s so much knowledge and experience within the GitKraken teams after 6+ years of building GitKraken Client, the people at GitKraken really understand Git tooling. The graph will help GitLens users verify recent Git actions on the repo and show who made what code changes and when. We plan to bring powerful visualization features like the GitKraken Client commit history graph to GitLens. What does the future hold for GitLens? We will continue to invest in making the hard-to-use, but powerful features of Git more accessible in VS Code, like merge conflict resolution and comparing the difference between branches, which users are currently only able to visualize in tree view in GitLens. area-plus-account Issues or features related to GitLens+ accounts bug Something isn't working needs-more-info Needs further information, steps, details, etc. We will also not be taking anything away or limiting access to any existing GitLens features, nor will we ever charge for them. Those are the foundational goals of GitLens, and the core features that enable this magic won’t be going anywhere, nor will they stagnate. With better understanding comes greater productivity and better outcomes. So I set out to create an extension to enable VS Code to provide quick insights into that rich history and make it easy to go back in time and see how the code evolved.įast forward to today: GitLens has grown to provide a wide array of tools and visualizations to unlock the untapped knowledge within a repository to help you better understand code. And I never found any good tools to make that process easier and less painful. Throughout my career, I’ve always learned so much from a codebase by diving into its history, especially when trying to fix bugs or evolve legacy code I didn’t understand yet. I had been wanting to do more with TypeScript and decided to try to build a tool to help me and my team be more productive with Git. Once VS Code introduced an extensibility model, I jumped right in. GitKraken also allows code editing directly within an app with its built-in code editor. You can add review comments as necessary to provide feedback. And ever since, I was hooked on creating and building tools to scratch my own itch to make the things I managed better, easier, or faster.įast forward many years, I discovered another Microsoft tool: VS Code, a beautiful, fast, streamlined, just-in-time IDE, and I quickly fell in love. The side-by-side diff view of GitKraken Client makes it easier to see the exact changes made to the code by comparing the files. It became so popular at launch that I effectively launched a DDoS attack on my college network which caused an outage for a day or so. One of my first apps was a shareware tool to show desktop notifications for POP3 email accounts. I could imagine something and bring that vision to life very quickly. When I first discovered Microsoft Visual Basic, I was hooked. To share a little information about why I created GitLens, let’s start by going all the way back to my very early days as a budding developer.

Clinical samples Ĭlinical samples are generally defined as non-infectious human or animal materials including blood, saliva, excreta, body tissue and tissue fluids, and also FDA-approved pharmaceuticals that are blood products. Body fluids can be analyzed in medical laboratory in order to find microbes, inflammation, cancers, etc. Universal precautions and safer sex practices try to avoid exchanges of body fluids. This is because they can be vectors for infectious diseases, such as sexually transmitted diseases or blood-borne diseases. Modern medical, public health, and personal hygiene practices treat body fluids as potentially unclean. Lymphatic fluid (sometimes included in interstitial fluid)īody fluid is the term most often used in medical and health contexts.intracellular fluid (ICF), which consist of cytosol and fluids in the cell nucleus. The vascular volume is divided into the venous volume and the arterial volume and the arterial volume has a conceptually useful but unmeasurable subcompartment called the effective arterial blood volume. The interstitial fluid compartment is divided into the lymphatic fluid compartment – about 2/3, or 8 (6–10) liters, and the transcellular fluid compartment (the remaining 1/3, or about 4 liters). The ECF compartment is divided into the interstitial fluid volume – the fluid outside both the cells and the blood vessels – and the intravascular volume (also called the vascular volume and blood plasma volume) – the fluid inside the blood vessels – in a three-to-one ratio: the interstitial fluid volume is about 12 liters the vascular volume is about 4 liters. The total body of water is divided into fluid compartments, between the intracellular fluid compartment (also called space, or volume) and the extracellular fluid (ECF) compartment (space, volume) in a two-to-one ratio: 28 (28–32) liters are inside cells and 14 (14–15) liters are outside cells. A lean 70 kg (150 lb) man, for example, has about 42 (42–47) liters of water in his body. Ingested foods and liquids (preformed water). The exact percentage of fluid relative to body weight is inversely proportional to the percentage of body fat. Water is the main component of all body fluids making up 45-75 of the total body weight. The extracellular fluid is further subdivided: Eighty percent is in the interstitial fluid, which is the fluid that bathes the non-blood cells of the body. In lean healthy adult men, the total body water is about 60% (60–67%) of the total body weight it is usually slightly lower in women (52–55%). The extracellular fluid compartment is further subdivided into the interstitial fluid and the intravascular fluid compartments.īody fluids, bodily fluids, or biofluids, sometimes body liquids, are liquids within the human body. This fluid is distributed between blood plasma, interstitial fluid, and intracellular fluid with the following proportions: Body Fluid Compartment: Proportion (%) of Total Body Water (TBW): Blood Plasma 6.6 Interstitial Fluid 33.0 Extracellular Fluid (ECF) 26.4 Intracellular Fluid 67.0 67.Intracellular and extracellular fluid compartments. For a typical 70 kg person, approximately 42 kg of this weight is water (which is equivalent to a volume of approximately 42 L of water). There was the event with Prince Charles and Chris Patten, but there was nothing for regular people to mark this bittersweet moment,” explains Bull. “As we got a few months away from this handover date that Hong Kong had been waiting for, for 150 years, I realized that nobody had put on an event. Interestingly, the party itself took shape in Bull’s mind during a trip to Beijing. The opening night saw drag-queen superstar and John Waters’ muse, Divine, play her characteristically raunchy and raucous set, followed by a string of high profile acts, from Run DMC to New Order and Pet Shop Boys to Erasure, not to mention Kylie Minogue’s first-ever live performance, thereby introducing a new wave of music to Hong Kong’s masses.Īs Bull’s profile continued to grow, so too did his parties and ambitions, culminating in 1997’s Unity: The Great Hong Kong Handover Party, an event that would solidify his place in the annals of Hong Kong – and greater China – history books. However, in March 1985, he decided it was time to hang up his headphones and make way for a new generation of DJs and bands by opening his own club, Canton Disco. Throughout the rest of the 70s and into the early-80s, Bull remained a fixture in Hong Kong’s party scene, having found homes at the Peninsula Hotel’s The Scene, Disco Disco, and myriad other clubs. But a schlep that was worth it nonetheless, as Bull cites introducing the 12-inch disco single to Asia as one of his life’s crowning achievements. An impressive feat to be sure, as schlepping a few dozen records to a gig and back is no walk in the park. In order to replenish his coffers and ensure that Hong Kong kept pace with its counterparts in the West, Bull would make thrice-yearly pilgrimages to the US, returning home with 100 vinyl in tow every trip. What’s more, the club scene was beginning to explode at places like Studio 54 in New York and the Trocadero Transfer in San Francisco. Unfortunately, however, the vinyl market inside Hong Kong was limited at the time, reduced to a few local pressings and 45s, altogether bereft of the 12-inch disco singles that were integral to keeping the energy up during a set. The result: Non-stop disco mixing which allowed Bull to “hypnotize audiences and take them on journeys.” It was an experience unheard of in Hong Kong and people went wild for it. Likewise, thanks to the advent of 12-inch singles and Technics turntables with variable speed, a perfect storm was brewing, one from which a new era of parties could emerge. So by the time I came on the scene, it was the early days of Barry White, there was Hues Corporation’s ‘Rock the Boat,’ there was ‘Kung Fu Fighting.’ So it was like: Wait a minute, we need to dance to this!” “Discotheques in the 60s were groovy and sexy, but that burned out pretty quickly because the way the music was presented was basic," explains Bull. "Seven-inches and shouting between the songs, it was destined to fail. To be sure, Bull not only found himself in a place that was leagues behind more established cities like New York and Los Angeles but also during a time in which club music was experiencing some growing pains. “That night transformed me into a DJ,” catapulting the young music fan into a relentless schedule of DJing six hours a night, six days a week, for the next 12 years. “It was the first time I played for a live audience, and from that moment, both me and the audience realized we had something going on,” says Bull. “When my parents ended their tour of duty in ’74, I was about 16 or 17, and I managed to persuade them that I was going to leave school and continue with the stuff I was doing in Hong Kong,” Bull tells the Beijinger.Īt the same time, after a friend of his who served as the resident DJ at The Scene, a club in Kowloon’s Peninsula Hotel “was sick or had a date or something,” Bull was asked to fill in. Needless to say, for a fresh-faced kid coming out of the dreary back alleys of grey-skied Britain, it was the stuff of dreams. Despite only being in his teens, he somehow managed to ingratiate himself into Hong Kong’s radio industry, covering everything from local typhoons to a visit from famed-James Bond actor, Roger Moore. I spoke with Bull over the phone ahead of 50 Years On the Decks: 1970-2020, a celebration of his illustrious and iconic career, at Dada Beijing this Friday.īetween 19, Andrew Bull would spend the holidays in Hong Kong with his father, a member of the British army stationed in the then-UK territory. Whether you’ve spent a night getting lost in the aural euphoria of Aurora, Zhao Dai, Lantern, and Dada, or watched a live band tear the roof off of Tango and Omni Space, you largely have one man to thank – Andrew Bull, aka DJ El Toro – a British native who, 50 years ago, decided to quit school and head for the humid, sub-tropical climes of Hong Kong. age of moon: makes crystal biome grow faster.age of tears: makes swamp, mushroom, lemon and jungle biomes grow faster.age of dark: makes corrupted biome grow faster.age of sun: makes desert and savanna biomes grow faster.age of hope: makes grass biome grow faster.added: different ages give bonuses to specific biome growths. Some of them give bonuses to loyalty, opinions and other stats. added: new age/eras system! It is notable however that the character himself does not appear as such in-game instead, both protagonists wear helmets similar to those possessed by members of the Bravo Team. Promotional materials and cover art for the game accordingly feature a second character alongside the original protagonist, a brown-haired marine who features the same wavy hairline as the original protagonist of Doom, particularly as he is depicted in the episode end art of Thy Flesh Consumed and on the cover art for Doom II, alongside similar facial features. The Xbox version of Doom 3 includes a cooperative multiplayer mode which was available over Xbox Live. The Doom 3 marine, under the name of "Doom marine", appears in Quake Champions as an alternate skin for the Doom Slayer. In the 2005 Doom movie, which is loosely based on Doom 3, the marine is named John Grimm and is portrayed by Karl Urban. The Doom 3 novel Worlds on Fire gives his name as John Kane, along with a backstory of military indiscretion similar to that of the original classic Doom marine. He only shows a brief burst of anxiety (stepping back slightly and appearing to mouth a curse) when he first sees the towering cyberdemon. He rarely shows fear or panic, despite the increasingly horrific events and creatures he comes to witness, including several bizarre and disturbing psychic visions. The Marine is depicted as being tough and fearless in the game's cut scenes. Although the Marine never truly speaks, he utters grunts of pain when injured or a scream when killed. Even on these "chatting" occasions, however, the player character is addressed simply as "Marine" and remains silent, either because most of the discussion is about his orders, or due to the silent protagonist narrative shared across the series. Most of them do not say much (other than that they are busy and the UAC base is a frightening place), but a few, such as Sergeant Kelly, give the player some briefing regarding his mission, especially after the forces of Hell invade the UAC base. Unlike in the original series, the player can "talk" to various people. He has black hair and appears to be in his mid twenties to early thirties. His physique is also less powerful looking than the classic marine, although he is still relatively muscular. His facial features are not concealed since he does not wear a helmet (some sources suggest that it was originally intended for him to wear a helmet). The Marine's appearance was inspired by and modeled after long-time id Software employee Kevin Cloud. It is specified that the player has been sent to Mars as a replacement for another marine lost in the ongoing Delta Labs operations. Doom 3 itself introduces a character known only as the "marine" (later called the "Doom marine" in Quake Champions, in contrast to the Doomguy of the classic Doom series). The episode highlights how much we really didn’t know about the agents beyond the persona they show to the outside world, and as we were introduced to the episode serial killer and sexual assaulter known as Carl Buford (Julius Tennon), the owner of the local community centre and local hero who for decades who molested boys like Morgan for years. Anton Yelchin’s real-life early death also adds pathos to the already impactful episode that focuses more intently on the “mind” of a serial killer. The episode gives viewers an insight into the conflicting nature of a killer as it raises ethical questions for the youngest and most conflicted member of the team at the time. The show’s resident genius already thinking the situation odd, gets a bigger shock when he learns the team is investigating a new serial killer in Washington, D.C. The episode starts when Nathan approaches Reid asking him direct questions about killing and murder – exhibiting all the signs of a budding serial killer. Spencer Reid (Matthey Gray Gubler), to help him with his murderous urges towards prostitutes. The late Anton Yelchin plays Nathan Harris, a teenage boy who approached Dr. The episode was the beginning of the show, illuminating us on the personal lives of the team as we learnt about how “The Fisher King: Part 2” all linked back to Reid’s mother (Jane Lynch) and his guilt over his reluctance to visit her in the hospital. As this episode focused on the unsub Randall Garner (played by Charles Haid in the first part and Charley Rossman in the second), who in the season 1 finale saw Garner waiting to confront Elle at gunpoint, leading to her hovering on the brink of death, and in the season 2 opener wanting to send the BAU on an Arthurian quest. Season 1 Episode 22 and Season 2 Episode 1ĭespite being two episodes, the season 1 finale and season 2 opening episode are one narrative arc and a story that had fans on tenterhooks. 12), we thought it would be a great time to reflect on 10 of the best episodes of Criminal Minds. So as Criminal Minds: Evolution resumes weekly episodes on Paramount+ (Jan. And this time most of the original castmembers would be returning. The glimmer only got brighter at the beginning of 2022 when Paramount + announced they would be rebooting the show (albeit for streaming rather than network television). When the show switched off its screens for the “final” time in February 2020, there was a glimmer of hope for its return, thanks to its passionate fanbase. All of which happened before what fans thought was Criminal Minds’ final episode. We also had the departure of fan favorite Shemar Moore after 11 seasons so he could go on to star in the CBS drama SWAT and the sudden departure of Thomas Gibson due to a reported altercation on set. Cook left in season five when her contract wasn’t initially renewed, but after massive outrage from fans, we saw her return quickly. The more notable exits included Mandy Patinkin, who left the show in season three due to his emotional distress from the dark subject matter. I’m saying those words because I’m not allowed to write the other form, but I assure you that’s exactly what I’m thinking and feeling. The series has been full of ups and downs as fans saw many characters come and go and come back again (yes, we’re looking at you, Paget Brewster). So far I’ve attempted to deliver my thoughts spoiler free, but I feel like there’s no way I could discuss the last part of the episode without them. The way his character's ingenuity, ingeniousness and heartlessness grew throughout this episode was just wonderful, yet terrifying, to watch. Thomas Howell’s portrayal of George Foyet aka the Reaper, but I must now apologize because the performance he delivered in this episode was above and beyond all expectations. With my original review of the season premiere, I was none too kind to C. Although, to give credit to the writers, the way this episode unfolded not only nullified whatever hatred I had for said episodic format, but had me sitting on the edge of my seat the entire way. The episode was delivered in one of my least favorite formats where the end of the story is in the beginning and we spend the entire episode catching up the 2 minutes we saw in the beginning. A producer or arranger sits at a piano and plunks out notes for the vocalists, trying to corral errant pitch or wandering harmonies. It’s an automated way of replacing a common studio scene. Its main claim to fame is the way you can use MIDI to adjust your pitch correction, a feature found in a few free plugins. GSnap from GVST is still a solid contender for no-budget plugin users. When free versions of pitch correction plugins emerged, Graham Yeadon was at the forefront. Given that there are 33 other plugins in the package, MAutoPitch is a treasure trove you should check out. There is a commercial version of MAutoPitch, but the free plugin isn’t crippled in any way, though it doesn’t have all the advanced features that the upgrade has. Being able to dial in wet/dry balance easily gives great-sounding automatic double-tracking (ADT) effects that are a breeze to adjust. Pitch correction has two general modes: subtle error correction and as a special effect, the so-called “T-Pain sound.” MAutoPitch handles both and then some. That it can be mentioned in the same breath as the leaders as a free plugin is impressive. I don’t think MAutoPitch outperforms either of these plugins, but it’s fast and easy to get results. Big-ticket pitch correction packages such Antares Auto-Tune and Melodyne can sometimes take some wrangling to fine-tune. In fact, ‘simplify’ is perhaps the best way to describe the MAutoPitch approach. What’s more, its interface is one of the most natural and intuitive you’re likely to find in pitch correction software, which by nature is difficult to simplify. One of these, MAutoPitch, is not only a great value at zero dollars, it’s got a few tricks up its sleeve that even the big players in the field don’t have. Melda Productions offers a 34-effect free bundle that’s a tremendous package, particularly if you’re new to the plugin world.
